HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEART
[Classic Trucks Dec. 2000 and StreetTrucks Jan. 2003]

This '57 Chevy Pick Up is powered by a 350 c.i. 224 Crate motor that has stock alluminum heads, dual-plane intake manifold, an HEI ignition and pistons. A tan and red, leather and cloth Glide Engineering bench seat reclines for ultimate driving comfort. A Budnik steering wheel and stock guages appear on the dash. Taylor Trim Shop in Costa Mesa cut and fit the upholstery for the interior and installed the matching red carpet. Every inch of the truck was restored with a careful loving eye—even the bedrails were painted to match the cranberry-red body.

A new feature for the '57 was the custom grille. The truck was also given a smoother design with a pair of "wind-split" bulges running down the top. We alsoshaved the tailgate chains and fender emblems which give the truck a smooth, uninterupted look from the rear.

THE ULTIMATE '80 CHEVY PICKUP
[Street Trucks Dec. 1999]

Owner Robert Wilson brought the truck to Pro Design for some wild modifications. First off, the truck was slammed. Then the first set of 20-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels were installed and dressed in BFG rubber. Then Pro Design modified the bed by smoothing the tailgate, shaving the taillights and molding a Sir Michaelšs roll pan which sported trick custom lighting. Pro Design then added a front bumper and a custom phantom billet grill. The wicked appearance of the front would certainly demand attention.

Stitchcraft went ballistic on the interior of Robertšs truck by sewing gray leather and Dalmation print velour. The combination of the material and pattern really woke up the senses. This was a truly unique interior.

Other impressive features included Autometer gauges, Empire aluminum accessories and custom made door panels fabricated to house the mids and halfs of the Pioneer sound system.

Under the highly polished hood, lurked the heart and soul of this ultimate Chevy. Pro Design added a freshly painted LT-1 Corvette engine adorned with tons of chrome plated accessories. The LT-1 was comfortably cradled between hand-made wheel tubs. And, this engine screamed every time the throttle was snapped.
